Monday morning I got up early for someone who is off work for a few days. The weather was not nice, it was raining a bit, so I decided to stay in and spend some time reading the tons of e-mails that were waiting for me.
Around dinner time the weather cleared up and a shy sun showed up for a while. So we decided to go and do some small trails in the area, just to get some fresh air. There are still lots of snow in the woods but we managed. As you can see from the picture, there are some moose droppings too, lots of them…
I took a lot of photos. We ended up doing 2 small trails.
I received my 2 kayak dvd’s that I had ordered some time ago on e-bay. I watched a bit of it in the afternoon. This is torture, I just want to go out now. I had to stop watching them when the kids came back from school. They are in charge of the television you know…
Right after supper I went to a little look-out here in Rocky Harbour with Vincent, Kim and Alain. I was hoping to do a nice time lapse of a sunset. The time lapse came out ok, however the sunset was not much to see as it was too cloudy. I am planning to set up my own geocache, so while walking we looked for hiding places for them.
Tuesday morning, I once again got up early for someone not working. Again the weather was kind of bad, cloud and rain. At around 10:00 am, I decided that I would go for a little drive to Woody Point. One of the reason is there are 2 geocaches in the area. So we left, on the way we saw several moose. Today in total we saw 8 of them. When we left it was not raining, the closer we got the more it came down. So by the time we got there it was raining. I didn’t spend all this gas for nothing, so we went anyway. I did manage to find both of the cache, it was cool, especially since they were on trails that aren’t all that well known and it gave us an opportunity to discover them.
On the way back we saw some more moose and a few ducks.

Tomorrow is shopping day, so we are heading to Corner Brook early in the morning.
Hopefully the weather will be nice on thursday and I will be able to do something.

J’aime particulièrement l’écureuil.
Lundi matin je me suis levé de bonne heure pour quelqu’un en congé. La temperature etait pas vargeuse, un peu de pluie, donc j’ai decidé de rattraper le temps perdu et de lire la tonne de e-mails qui m’attendaient.
Vers l’heure du diner, le temps s’est éclairci et un soleil timide est apparu pour un bout. On a decidé d’aller faire quelques sentiers pas loin d’ici, pour prendre de l’air un peu. Il y a encore pas mal de neige dans le bois, mais on s’est debrouillé. Comme vous pouvez le voir sur la photo, il y avait aussi pas mal de p’tits cadeaux d’orignaux, pas mal beaucoup, fallait regarder ou on mettait les pieds par endroit…
J’ai pris beaucoup de photos. On a fini par faire 2 sentiers.
J’ai reçu mes 2 dvds de kayak que j’avais commandé il y a pas mal de temps sur e-bay. J’ai commencé a en regarder un dans l’apres-midi. C’est pas drole ca, c’est vraiment de la torture, maintenant tout ce que je veux faire c’est d’aller en faire. J’ai dû arreter de le regarder quand les enfants sont revenus de l’école. Ils sont en charge de la television vous savez.
Tout de suite apres le souper je suis allé au belvedere de Rocky Harbour avec Vincent, Kim et Alain. J’espérais faire de la photo en temps continu du coucher de soleil. Ca a sorti pas mal, mais pas comme esperé, il y avait trop de nuage. J’espere pouvoir cacher ma propre geocache bientot, faqu’en meme temps on a cherché un bon endroit pour le cacher.
Mardi matin, je me suis encore levé de bonne heure pour quelqu’un qui ne travaille pas. Encore une fois la temperature n’etait pas vraiment de notre coté. Des nuages et de la pluie. A environ 10:00 AM, j’ai quand meme décidé d’aller faire une promenade en voiture jusqu’a Woody Point. La principale raison, c’est qu’il y a 2 geocaches pas loin de la. Donc on est parti, sur le chemin on a vu plusieurs orignaux. Dans la journee on en a vu 8 en tout. Quand nous sommes partis il ne pleuvait pas, mais plus on se rapprochait de Woody Point, plus c’est devenu mauvais. Par le temps qu’on est arrivé il pleuvait. Je n’ai pas dépensé tout ce gaz pour rien, donc on a decidé d’y aller de toute facon. On n’est pas fait en chocolat. J’ai reussi a trouver les 2 geocaches et je me suis bien amusé.
Sur le chemin de retour on a vu d’autre orignaux et quelques canards.
Toutes mes photos récentes sont maintenant dans ma galerie et j’ai 3 nouvelles photos en temps continu. Allez jeter un coup d’oeil.
Demain c’est la commande d’epicerie a Corner Brook, donc lever tot le matin. Si je suis chanceux peut etre que la temperature sera de mon coté jeudi et que je vais pouvoir faire quelque chose.

As I was working last night, there isn’t anything new really. I had some homework to do before going to the course. So I spent most of the night in books and in the criminal code doing some research. I spent most of the evening reading cases law. The course I am going to attend is Forensic interviewing. Basically is to learn how to do interviews of suspect in more serious matter. I am leaving tomorrow and I will be away until next Friday and then back to work on Saturday.
In the meantime I have had some fun with some of my sunset photos. I used Photoshop and did a montage with several photos. The result is quite nice.
I saw 3 moose last night. Never took any picture as I was too busy trying to get where I was going and coming back to study. From talking to some people around town it seems we will see more and more in the next few weeks. This is the time of the year when they get on the move again. I am sure Lucie will be happy about that.
I have to go and start packing and then get ready for work, yeah work again tonight…
Comme je travaillais hier soir, il n’y a pas grand chose de nouveau. J’avais de la recherche a faire pour le cours que je vais suivre la semaine prochaine. Et oui des devoirs…. Donc j’ai passé la majeure partie de la nuit passée dans les livres et dans le code criminel a faire de la recherche. J’ai fait de la revue de jurisprudence presque toute la soiree. Le cours que je vais suivre est au sujet des entrevues légales. En fin de compte on va apprendre a faire des interrogations de suspect pour des crimes plus sérieux. Je pars demain, je reviens vendredi prochain et c’est le retour au travail samedi.
En attendant je me suis amusé avec quelques unes de mes photos de coucher de soleil. Je me suis servi de Photoshop et j’ai fait un montage avec plusieurs photos. Le resultat est pas pire.
J’ai vue 3 orignaux la nuit derniere. Je n’ai pas pris de photo parce que j’étais trop pressé. J’ai discuté avec quelques personnes du coin et il parait que c’est la saison ou on va commencer à en voir pas mal plus. Je suis sûr que Lucie va etre contente.
Je dois aller commencer a faire mes valises et me preparer pour travailler ce soir.

You might have noticed and maybe not, there is a link to a new page on the right side called subscription. This is to subscribe to e-mail notification each time I update my blog. Basically it means that if you subscribe you will receive an e-mail each time that I update my blog. With that no need to come and check my blog each day to see if there is something new. Isn’t technology great? Cool isn’t it? A big thanks to Lucie who helped me figure all that.
Other than that nothing really new. I was working last night and we had a wicked sunset. As I carry my camera with me all the time I took a few photos. Some of them came out really nice. They are in my gallery under sunset, have a look.
Back to work again tonight. Sunday I am leaving on a course for a week. I am going to Stephenville (about 3 hours drive from here). The good news is that they have internet connection in the hotel, so I will be able to let you know how things are going.

Avec ca, pas besoin de venir vérifier le blog chaque jour pour voir s’il y a quelque chose de nouveau. Cest-y beau le 20ieme siecle! C’est pas mal cool. Grand merci à Lucie qui m’a aidé à figurer tout ca.
A part ca, pas grand chose de neuf. J’ai travaillé hier soir et nous avons eu un coucher de soleil pas mal pettant. Comme je me promene tout le temps avec mon appareil photo, j’en ai fait quelques unes qui sont assez réussies. Elles sont dans ma galerie sous la rubrique coucher de soleil. Allez jeter un coup d’oeil.
Je travaille encore ce soir. Dimanche je pars pour un cours pendant une semaine. Je vais à Stephenville (environ 3 heures de conduite d’ici). La bonne nouvelle c’est qu’ils ont l’internet a l’hotel donc je vais etre capable de faire des mises a jour et vous laisser savoir comment ca va.

Nothing really new. Yesterday I stayed home, relax and quiet. Spent some time on the computer and later last night watched some old X-Files on dvd. One of the highlight of the day was the sunset. So I have 4 new photos of sunset in my gallery. I also had some fun with my camera and as a result there’s a new macro photography in the gallery as well. Have a look.
I haven’t planned anything for today, I have to go to the fast program later this afternoon. Tomorrow it is back to work, the sad part is that I am working for 14 days in a row, so I am not sure when the next update will be.
Y a rien de vraiment nouveau. Hier je suis resté à la maison, relaxe et tranquille. J’ai passé une partie de la journee sur l’ordinateur et hier soir j’ai regardé quelques vieux episodes de X-Files sur dvd. Un des bons moments de la journee a ete le coucher de soleil. J’ai donc 4 nouvelles photos de coucher du soleil dans ma galerie et je me suis aussi amusé un peu avec mon appareil ce qui a donné nouvelle photo macro, aussi dans ma galerie. Allez jeter un coup d’oeil.
Aujourd’hui rien de prévu, à part aller au programme FAST plus tard cet après-midi. Demain c’est le retour au travail, le pire c’est que je travaille pour 14 jours en ligne. Donc je ne sais pas quand je vais pouvoir faire une nouvelle mise a jour.

What a week-end and what a week! I was working and we were quite busy. On Monday I responded to a suicide complaint, ended up being the first one at the scene and spent the rest of the day working on this. As a result on tuesday I had to go to the autopsy. Not pleasant at all.
Finally on Wednesday I was off. Due to the fact that I had the FAST program in the afternoon, we decided to stay home and do grocery shopping on Thursday. With nothing on the schedule before the afternoon, I got up early and we went for a drive hoping to take some photos. The weather was not bad, cloudy but warmer, so we went.
Did not see any animal but I ended up doing some good photos just the same. I opened a new album called drive.
Today we were supposed to go grocery shopping but the weather had other plans for us. We had a snow storm all day. So I stayed home and just did nothing…
Kim is going to a drama festival in Corner Brook for the week-end, she is all excited about it because they get to stay at the Holiday Inn friday night. As for me, going back to work tomorrow.
Quelle fin de semaine et quelle semaine aussi! On a ete tres occupé ces dernier temps au travail. Lundi j’ai répondu à un suicide, j’ai ete le premier a la scene et j’ai passé le reste de la journee a travailler la dessus. Par conséquence j’ai du aller à l’autopsie mardi, pas très agréable…
Finnallement mercredi j’etais en congé. Comme j’avais le programme FAST dans l’apres midi, on a decidé de rester a la maison et de faire la commande d’epicerie Jeudi. Avec rien sur le programme avant l’après-midi, je me suis levé tôt et on est parti faire un tour de voiture en esperant faire un peu de photo. La temperature etait pas si pire, nuageux mais un peu plus chaud, donc on est parti. On n’a pas vu d’animaux sinon pour quelques caribous qui étaient un peu trop loing mais j’ai quand meme fait quelques photos qui sont pas si pire.
J’ai ouvert un nouvel album que j’ai appellé drive.
Aujourd’hui on devait aller à Corner Brook faire la commande d’epicerie mais la temperature avait d’autres plans pour nous. On a eu droit a une tempete de neige toute la journee,. Donc je suis demeuré a la maison et je n’ai rien fait de particulier.
Kim va à un festival de theatre a Corner Brook avec son club de Drama de l’école durant la fin de semaine. elle est toute excitée surtout parce qu’ils vont dormir au Holiday In vendredi soir! Quant à moi, c’est le retour au travail demain.

Another day that didn’t go as planned. This morning I was awaken by the phone… It was the office, I was supposed to be off today, but they needed me to go to work, which I did, I just grabbed a coffee and left. Not even time to drink my first coffee before going, you can imagine how pleasant it was. So in my last 2 days off, I ended up going to work. Oh well, it is part of the job I supposed.While I am talking about job, tomorrow I am heading to St John’s again for court. I will be away from home for the next 3 days so I will not be able to update this blog until at least Friday. I just hope that I will have nice driving weather.
I found a web site a few weeks back called photo Friday. http://www.photofriday.com/ The idea behind this web site is that each Friday they post a new theme and people go out and take photos according to the theme. The next week people are invited to vote for their favorite photos. There is nothing to win, just for the fun of it. So I will let you know each week what is the theme and what photo I have submitted. This week the theme is Sky and my submission is # 637 called Stormy Sky.
What I did is I deleted all the contents on my old blog on Blogger and will use this site for this purpose instead.

The news about Andrew McAuley are not good. They have now completed 3 days of search without any positive result. The chances of finding him alive are fading with each passing day. You can read all about the search on Australian news web site at:

So until Friday, I will probably have all kind of things to talk about upon my return from my trip to the big city.
Un autre jour qui s’est pas deroulé comme prévu. Ce matin je me suis fait reveiller par le telephone, c’était le bureau, bien que je devais être en congé aujourd’hui, ils avaient besoin que j’aille travailler. J’ai juste attrappé un café et je suis parti. Meme pas eu le temps d’en prendre un avant de partir, vous pouvez imaginer comment j’ai trouvé ça plaisant. Donc durant mes deux dernières journées de congé j’ai dû aller travailler… J’imagine que ca fait partie de la job… Pendant que je parle de travail, demain je dois aller a St-Jean pour de la court. Je vais etre parti pour 3 jours donc je ne vais pas etre capable de mettre a jour mon blog avant Vendredi. J’espere que j’aurai de la belle temperature pour conduire.
J’ai trouvé un site Web il y a quelques semaines qui s’appelle Photo Friday (photo du vendredi) http://www.photofriday.com/ L’idée est simple, chaque vendredi ils postent un nouveau theme. Les gens vont voir le theme de la semaine et font des photos qui font reference a ce dernier. La semaine suivante les visiteurs du site sont invités à voter pour leur photo preferée. Il n’y a rien à gagner, c’est seulement pour le fun de faire des photos sur un thème précis et faire voir au gens ce que ce thème a inspiré chez nous. Je vous laisserai savoir quel est le theme et la photo j’ai posté sur ce sitelorsque j’en soumets. Cette semaine le thème est “ciel” et ma soumission est # 637 appele Stormy Sky.
Ce que j’ai fait c’est que j’ai tout retiré sur mon vieux blog sur blogger et je l’utiliserai juste pour mes soumissions sur Photo Friday.

Les nouvelles au sujet d’Andrew McAuley et de son aventure en kayak ne sont pas trop bonnes. Les autorités ont maintenant cherché pendant 3 jours sans resultat.
