Well we had 3 days of rain for my 3 days off. But still we were able to do a little bit between the clouds.
Since we came back from vacation, we were not too lucky weather wise. We were able to get into the kayak one afternoon on the August 08th. This was only a really short paddle, about ½ hour. We were also able to do a small trail, Berry Hill, we got there just for the sunset and got some nice photos.
Then I worked but that didn’t keep Lucie from going kayaking with Vincent. They went on Wednesday afternoon, both of them, while I was working hard… Always the same people having all the fun. That night we went for a little walk and later we took the kids stargazing.
Then on Thursday, Lucie decided to go camping with Alain. I worked all day, so after work I went and helped them set up the tent. Kim and I stayed with them a little for a nice campfire. The plan was that Kim and I would go the next day…. Guess what? The next day was my first day off and it rained.
It is not fair now, is it? Anyway the next morning, during a small break with no rain, Lucie and I went to take down the tent and pack everything. While there we decided to take a small walk on the Baker’s Brook fall trail. We did that one before, we just wanted to go and take some photos.
I am glad we did as about 4 km in the trail we saw a couple of moose right by the trail. It was the first time I saw some that close in the woods. I managed to get some good photos.

Tomorrow it is back to work.
Enfin de compte j’ai eu 3 jours de pluie pour mes 3 jours de conge. Malgre tout on a quand meme pu faire quelques choses entre deux nuages.
Depuis qu’on est revenu de vacances on n’a pas ete gaté coté temperature. On a ete capable de faire un peu de kayak durant la soiree du 8 août. C’était seulement une petite promenade de ½ heure. On a aussi pu faire un petit sentier, Berry Hill, on est arrivé là juste a temps pour le coucher de soleil, ca a donné quelques photos pas pire pantoute.
Ensuite je suis retourné au travail. Ca n’a pas empeché Lucie et Vincent d’aller faire du kayak. Ils y sont alles mercredi dans l’apres midi pendant que je travaillais tres fort. C’est tout le temps les mêmes qui ont tout le fun. Durant la soiree on a ete faire une petite promenade et ensuite on a emmené les enfants regarder les etoiles.
Jeudi, Lucie et Alain ont decidé d’aller faire du camping. Comme je travaillais toute la journee, apres l’ouvrage je suis allé leur donner un coup de main pour tout installer. Kim et moi sommes restés dans la soiree et on a eu un beau feu de camp. On avait decidé que la journee suivante ce serait au tour de Kim et moi d’aller camper. Devinez ce qui s’est passé? Il a plu et notre plan etait a l’eau. C’etait ma premiere journee de conge.
C’est pas vraiment juste, pas de kayak, pas de camping, mais coudonc! Le lendemain matin, Lucie et moi sommes retournés au terrain de camping pour tout demonter. Pendant qu’on etait la on a decidé d’aller se promener. Donc on a ete faire le sentier Baker’s Brook fall. Ce n’etait pas la premiere fois qu’on le faisait, mais on voulait juste aller faire un peu de photo.
Ca a bien adonné car a environ 4 kilometrea sur le sentier on s’est retrouver face a face avec un couple d’orignaux. C’etait la premiere fois que j’en voyais de si proche dans le bois. J’ai reussi a faire quelques photos qui sont très bien.

I know its been a long time since I wrote anything in my blog, a lot of things happened since the last update. I don’t know where to start. For that reason instead of going chronological I will just go by subject, that way I won’t have to try to remember what we did when. So here we are:
Children and family:
The children are all happy as they finished school. The report cards were not bad, nothing really out of the ordinary but allright. The first afternoon of the vacation they were already complaining that they were bored, this is going to be a long summer. Alain and Kim can’t wait to go on vacation in Montreal. Vincent’s girlfriend left him, so he is single again, one thing for sure the phone is still ringing all the time, just different people. I am sure that he will find a new girlfriend real fast, he is as good looking as is father, what can I say? Other than that we watched a new movie called Bridge to Terabithia. This is a nice movie worth watching, the kids liked it. I rediscovered a new pleasure of mine from a long time ago, Tomb Raider, the first game that has been updated recently.
We all went to the Insectarium. This is located in Deer Lake. We had lots of fun. They have a tent with live butterflies in it, the kids were thrilled especially when some of the butterflies landed on them. I took lots of photos.
Work:
Lots of it, it never stopped, we were busy. We had a truck accident, no one was injured however the content of the truck, a load of wood, ended up on the road so that one side of it was closed for a full day and we had to do traffic.
Other than that the usual, break and enter, court, and I was even called to work on my day off and had to attend court on another day off. So I end up working even if I am not supposed to. I have to go to court again in Harbour Grace next week. The good thing is that they will owe me a day off and I am keeping it for my vacation. So I have one more day. I will have to disconnect my cell phone while on vacation, the last thing I want is for them to call me.
I also had my DARE (drug abuse resistance education) graduation. For those who don’t know DARE, this is a 10 weeks program, one presentation each week, about drugs that I do in school. This was my 22nd class that I graduated. I had a good time teaching all these children.
Trails:
We did a few small ones with not much to write about. However we did 2 good trails. The first one was Lomond River, so far this is my favorite trail, I really enjoyed it. That one was 6 km one way. The terrain was not bad and it was a nice walk. I found out while doing this trail that Lomond River would be a real nice place to kayak, so I will have to try it one of these days.
The second one we did was on the last day of school, we just thought that we would take advantage of it and do a big one while we could still do it. We did the Green Gardens trail, this is a 17 km trail. It was a hard one with lot of climbing, going back down, climbing again etc. We had to do that several times. A nice trail but a hard one. I didn’t feel like this since I was in training for the RCMP17 years ago, I found lot of muscles that I had forgotten that I even had.
I am getting a nice tan from all these outdoor activities. I still need to update my page about the trails. Will do it as soon as I have time.
Photos:
Lots of them, but I’m still in the process of getting them ready for the internet, so when I finally update my gallery you will have a lot to see. While I am talking about photos, I have joined a new web site that enables me to sell my photos. The nice thing about it is the web site is taking care of printing the photos and sending them to the buyer. I have nothing to do other than upload to the website and wait. You can purchase other things with my photos on it, like fridge magnet, coasters, etc. I am still working on it and will upload more in a near future.
I also approached one of the craft stores in the area and told them that I was doing photography on the side and that most of the photos I take are better than the ones they have on display. They have agreed to take them and see what happens. That is kind of cool.
Kayak:
With all that I never had a chance to go kayaking since the last time. Hopefully in my next day off.
Geocaching:
Same here never had a chance to look for any new caches, however I did go back to one of mine and read all the comments from the people who found it. This is so cool, reading comments from people from all over the place.
E-Bay:
I mentioned last time that I had sold one thing on E-Bay. Now I am starting on a bigger scale. I bought some nice portable photo tripods, got them at a good price and will try to sell them. If you need one let me know, I am selling them real cheap. I am also getting equipped for my kayak-camping. I just received my small stove. So I am pretty well ready for a week-end of kayak camping.
Gros Morne did not make it in the CBC’s seven wonders of Canada. I think it is really too bad as it really is one of Canada’s wonders. To see the list go to:

Je sais, ça fait un bout de temps que je n’ai rien ecrit dans mon blog. Il s’est passé pas mal de chose depuis ma derniere mise a jour. Je ne sais meme pas par ou commencer. Pour cette raison au lieu d’aller par ordre chronologique je vais plutot y aller par sujet. Comme ca je ne vais pas devoir me rappeller c’est quoi que j’ai fait quand. Bon on y va:
Enfants et Famille:
Les enfants sont heureux, l’ecole est fini. Les bulletins etait pas pire, pas de surprises bonnes ou mauvaises, il etait bien et c’est a peu pres tout. Le premier jour de vacance les enfants se plaignaient deja qu’ils n’avaient rien a faire. Ca va etre long comme ete. Alain et Kim ont bien hate d’aller a Montreal pour les vacances. Ils en parlent beaucoup. Vincent est de nouveau celibataire, sa blonde l’a laissé tomber. Mais ça n’empêche pas le téléphone de sonner sans arrêt. J’imagine que c’est juste differentes personnes. Je suis pas mal sur qu’il va en trouver une autre pas mal vite, il est un beau garcon, comme son pere, que voulez-vous? A part ca on a regardé un nouveau film, Bridge to Terabithia. C’est un bon film qui vaut la peine d’etre vu, les enfants l’ont bien aimé. J’ai retrouvé un p’tit plaisir que j’avais oublié depuis longtemps. Je me suis acheté un nouveau jeu video. Ils ont repris un vieux classique et l’ont refait avec des nouveaux graphiquea. J’avais joué ce jeu-la il y a à peu pres 10 ans, Tomb Raider, je viens tout juste de me rappeller pourquoi je l’avais aimé la premiere fois.
Nous sommes tous allés à l’Insectarium qui est situé à Deer Lake. On a eu vraiment du plaisir. Ils ont une tente avec des papillons vivants a l’interieur, les enfants ont adoré, surtout quand quelques uns des papillons se sont posés sur eux. Bien sur j’ai pris tout plein de photos.
Travail:
Beaucoup de travail, ca n’a pas arreté. On a ete tres occupé. On a eu un accident de camion, personne n’a ete blessé mais tout le cargo du camion, du bois, s’est retrouver sur la route. On a donc fait du traffic toute une journee car la moitié de la route etait fermée.
Autre que ca c’est pas mal la routine, des entrées par effraction, des assauts etc… Je me suis meme fait appeller pour le travail durant ma journee de congee et j’ai dû aller en cour pendant une autre. Faque je fini par travailler meme quand je ne suis pas supposé. Je dois encore aller a Harbour Grace a la fin de la semaine pour de la cour. Ce qui est bien c’est qu’ils vont me devoir une autre journee de conge, je vais la garder pour les vacances, ça me donnera une journée de plus. Je pense que je vais debrancher mon telephone cellullaire pendant que je suis en vacance comme ca je vais avoir la paix.J’ai eu ma graduation DARE (drug abuse resistance education). Pour ceux qui ne connaissent pas DARE, c’est un programme éducatif au sujet des drogues que je fais dans les ecoles. Je passe 10 semaines, une session par semaine, avec la meme classe. Ca a ete ma 22eme classe que j’ai graduée. J’ai eu pas mal de plaisir avec les etudiants.
Sentiers:
On a fait quelquea petita sentiers mais rien de vraiment spectaculaire. Cependant on en a fait 2 qui vallent la peine d’être mentionnés. Le premier était Lomond River, a date c’est mon sentier preferé, je l’ai vraiment aimé. C’etait une marche de 6 kilometre aller seulement. Le terrain etait pas trop difficile et ca a ete une bonne promenade. Une chose que j’ai decouvert en faisant ce sentier c’est que la riviere Lomond est une bonne place pour faire du kayak, je vais devoir l’essayer un de ces jours.
On a fait le deuxieme sentier durant la dernier journee d’ecole des enfants, histoire d’en profiter pour en faire une grande pendant qu’on le pouvait encore. On a fait Green Gardens. C’est un sentier de 17 kilometres. Un pas mal difficile, avec beaucoup de grimpage et de descente et de grimpage encore, on a fait ca plusieurs fois. Un bon sentier mais pas mal dure. La derniere fois que je me suis senti comme ca c’etait a l’entrainement de la GRC il y a 17-18 ans. J’ai retrouvé des muscles oubliés.
Avec tout ce grand air je m’en viens pas mal bronzé. Je dois encore mettre a jour ma page au sujet des sentiers, je vais faire ca dès que j’ai une minute de libre.

Beaucoup de photos et encore plus que ca. Je suis encore en train de les arranger pour l’internet. Donc quand je vais enfin les placer dans ma galerie vous allez avoir beaucoup a voir. Pendant que je parle de photos, j’ai joint un nouveau site internet qui me permet de vendre mes photos en ligne. C’est pas mal bien car je n’ai rien a faire autre que d’installer les photos sur leur site et ils s’occupent de tout, les imprimer et les envoyer par courrier. Allez jeter un coup d’oeil c’est a:

Les visiteurs peuvent acheter autres choses avec mes photos comme des aimants pour frigidaire, des casse-tetes etc… je continue a travailler sur mes photos faqu’il y en aura plus bientôt. J’ai egalement approché un magasin d’artisanat dans le coin, je leur ai dit que je faisait de la photographie et que mes photos etaient pas mal mieux que celles qu’il avaient présentement à vendre. Il ont decidé de me donner un chance et de vendre quelque unes des miennes, faqu’on va voir ce qui va arriver. C’est pas mal le fun.
Kayak :
Avec tout ca j’ai pas eu le temps de faire du kayak depuis la derniere fois. Si tout va bien, peut etre durant ma prochaine journee de congé.Geocaching : Meme chose, trop occupé et pas de chance de chercher des nouvelles caches. Parcontre j’ai pris le temps d’aller voir une de mes caches et j’ai lu tous les commentaires laissés par le ceux qui l’ont trouvé, c’est pas mal le fun de lire les commentaires de personnes d’un peu partout.
E-Bay :
Comme j’ai mentionné dans unw de mes dernierea misea a jour, j’ai fait une vente sur E-Bay et ca c’est bien passé. Maintenant je prevois me lancer dans le commerce sur l’internet. J’ai acheté des petits trepieds portatifs de photos et je les ai eu à un tres bon prix, je vais essayer de les revendre. Si vous avez besoin d’un trepied de poche laissez le moi savoir. Je commence à etre pas mal tout equippé pour mon kayak camping. Je viens de recevoir mon rechaud portatif . Faque je suis pret pour une fin de semaine de kayak camping.Gros Morne n’as pas ete choisi comme une des sept merveilles du Canada de CBC. C’est dommage parce que je pense sincèrement qu’il aurrait être choisi car c’est vraiment une des merveilles du Canada. Pour voir la liste allez là: http://www.cbc.ca/sevenwonders/

Last week was another busy week, especially work related. I will spare you all the details, just tell you that I got called out once in the middle of the night and on another occasion had a fight with a guy (I won, he got arrested and charged with assault on a police officer, me…).
Lucie was gone for the first half of the week, she went to a camp with Alain, this was organized by the school and they needed some chaperons. So I ended up with Kim and Vincent at home. I did pretty well considering.
Monday I worked all day and upon my return home Kim and I went for a walk. The same night I got called out in the middle of the night and only came home at around 10:30 the next morning, because of that I ended up sleeping all day Tuesday.
The rest of the week was mainly work work work. Arresting and charging people, when not fighting with them.
Friday was my first day off and Lucie and I went for a walk all morning.
Saturday I didn’t do much, Lucie and Kim went for a shopping trip in Corner Brook, Mother, daughter kind of thing, so I just stayed home. Kim is planning to start some kind of small business this summer, she will be selling crafts. So that was one of the reason they went shopping, they needed supplies. Sunday we all went for a drive and went looking for geocaches.
Of course I also took a lot of photos. Most of the photos are already in my gallery. I started a new page on my blog with a small description of all the park trails that we are going to do this summer.
So that was my week in less than a page, not bad. In other news, I heard a new song by Rob Thomas (matchbox 20) on tv and that is all I have been listening to since the beginning of the week. I did a few purchases on E-Bay. I will be trying something new soon, I am trying to sell things on E-bay and see how it goes. For that reason I just bought 20 camera tripods. Got them at a nice price and now I will resell them and see if it is worthwhile. I will let you know how thing are going. I am also slowly getting all the stuff that I need to go Kayak camping. Got the tent, sleeping bags, and stove. The main reason that I have to get new stuff is that I want everything small so it all can fit in the kayak. This is another goal for the summer, try Kayak camping.
Well tonight is back to work for another week, until Sunday this time.
La semaine dernière a été une autre semaine occupée, particulièrement au travail. Je vais vous épargner les details, mais juste vous dire que j’ai été appellé au milieu de la nuit et à une autre occasion j’ai dû me battre avec un gars. (Au fait, j’ai gagné, il a été arrêté et charge pour assaut sur un officier de police, moi…).
Lucie a été partie pendant la moitie de la semaine. Elle est allée a un camp avec l’ecole pour la classe de Alain. Ils avaient besoin de chaperons et elle a decidé de se porter volontaire. Je suis donc resté a la maison avec Kim et Vincent. Je me suis pas mal bien debrouillé en fin de compte. Lundi j’ai travaillé toute la journee et apres le retour a la maison, moi et Kim sommes aller prendre une marche. Plus tard dans la soiree je me suis fait appellé pour travailler et je ne suis revenu que mardi matin vers 10:30am. Donc j’ai passé le reste de la journee à dormir.
Le reste de la semaine a ete travail, travail, travail. Particulierement, arreter et charger du monde, je ne sais pas ce qu’il y avait dans l’air.
Vendredi était mon premier jour de conge. On en a donc profiter pour aller faire un sentier pendant la majeur partie de l’avant midi.
Samedi, je n’ai pas fait grand chose, Lucie et Kim sont allées faire du magasinage a Corner Brook. Une sortie mere et fille, donc je suis resté a la maison. Kim a l’intention de se lancer en affaire et vendre de l’artisanat cet ete. C’est pour cette raison qu’elles sont allées à Corner Brook, afin d’acheter des choses pour ça. Dimanche nous sommes tous aller faire une ballade en auto et chercher des geocaches, en meme temps j’ai fait pas mal de photos.
La plupart des photos sont déjà dans ma galerie. J’ai commencé une nouvelle page sur mon blog au sujet des sentiers de Gros Morne.
C’etait donc ma semaine en moins d’une page, pas pire! D’autres petites nouvelles, j’ai entendu une nouvelle chanson par Rob Thomas (Matchbox 20) à la télévision et c’est ca que j’ecoute depuis le debut de la semaine. J’ai fait quelques achats sur E-Bay. J’ai l’intention d’essayer quelque chose de nouveau tres bientot. Je vais essayer de vendre sur E-Bay et voir comment ca va aller. Donc je viens tout juste d’acheter 20 trepieds pour appareils photo. Je les ai eu à un bon prix et maintenant je vais les mettre en vente séparrément et on va voir si ca vaut la peine. Je vais vous laisser savoir comment ca se deroule. Je continue de m’equiper pour aller faire du kayak camping. J’ai la tente, le sac de couchage et maintenant le poele. Une des raisons que je me re-équipe c’est que j’ai besoin d’equipement qui soit assez petit pour pouvoir tout mettre dans le kayak. C’est un autre de mes buts pour cet ete, essayer de faire du kayak camping.
Ce soir c’est de retour au travail pour une autre semaine, jusqua dimanche cette fois..

Well I got up a little bit late today, compared to all the other days. The weather was cloudy, windy and chilly. So I sat at my computer with a morning coffee, trying to update my blog and my photo gallery. Soon after dinner time Lucie asked me if I wanted to go for a little trail before the kids were back from school. So we left, we just went to the same trail we did last night with the children. This time we did all of it. There is still lots of snow in the woods.
Then we headed back home and picked up the kids from school at the same time. After that I prepared the supper. I made chili… This is the only recipe that I know and that I do well.
I just ordered a new digital camera on e-bay. It is the same kind as Lucie’s. a 35 mm Nikon d50. My little Pentax W20 still works just fine, but sometimes I find that I am limited in what I can do with it. Now I will have the choice and will still use the waterproof Pentax for kayaking. That will probably mean more photos in the future. Talking about photography, tomorrow morning, we are going to a Digital Photography workshop. This is part of the Norris Point Festival, I am not sure if we will learn anything new, but we’ll see.
On Saturday they have organized a kayak session, still with the festival, I may attend it if the weather is not too bad and if I am not too tired from working the night before. For that as well we will see how it goes.
And now I am back at my desk updating my blog and my photos. I hope that before the end of the night everything will be up to date.
Je me suis levé un peu plus tard que les derniers jours ce matin. Le temps était gris, venteux et un peu plus froid. Je me suis assis devant mon ordinateur avec mon premier café a essayer de mettre à jour mon blog et ma galerie de photo. Peu après le diner, Lucie m’a demandé si je voulais aller faire un sentier avant que les enfants reviennent de l’ecole. Donc on est parti faire le sentier qu’on avait commencé avec les enfants hier. Cette fois on l’a fait au complet. Il y a encore pas mal de neige dans le bois.
Ensuite on est retourné a la maison et en meme temps on a ramassé les enfants à l’ecole. En arrivant j’ai preparé le souper, j’ai fait du chili, la seule recette que je connais vraiment bien et que je fait assez bien aussi.
Je viens tout juste de commander une nouvelle camera digitale sur E-Bay. C’est la même sorte que Lucie, un 35 mm digital Nikon d50. Mon appareil Pentax W20 fonctionne toujours bien, c’est juste que des fois je me sens limité un peu par ce que je peux faire avec. Maintenant je vais avoir le choix. Je vais quand meme garder le Pentax pour aller faire du kayak car il est etanche. Ca va surement vouloir dire plus de photos dans l’avenir.
En parlant de photographie, demain matin, on va aller a un atelier de photographie digitale. Ca fait partie du festival a Norris Point. Je ne suis pas sûr qu’on va apprendre quelque chose de nouveau, mais en tout cas, on verra bien.
Ce samedi, ils ont organisé une session de kayak (Festival de Norris Point toujours), je vais peut-etre y aller si la temperature le permet et surtout si je ne suis pas trop fatigué de travailler de nuit, vendredi. Ca aussi on verra bien ce qui va se passer.
Maintenant je suis encore devant mon ordinateur a essayer de mettre a jour mon blog et ma galerie photos. J’espere que je vais etre a jour avant la fin de la soiree.

8 caribous, 7 moose, 1 bald eagle, I goose, 1 rabbit, 2 birds feeding in our hand, one geocache and a kayak trip. This is the official list for my day.
It is hard to keep up updating this blog when you are so busy but it is fun. I had a good day. This morning I got up and the weather was nice, so we decided to go to Cow Head to find a Geocache. On the way we saw some moose and caribous. We found the geocache easily and then did a nice little trail. We took lots of photos. That is when we saw the Eagle. It was too far away for me to take a good picture, however Lucie did manage to get some.
On the way back, more moose and more caribou. We were too early to pick up the kids from school so we went to Berry Hill pond just to see if there was still snow on the road and if we would be able to get to the trail. We just went in the parking and we noticed some grey jays. They came really close, those little guys are not shy at all so we ended up picking up some granola bars from by backpack to see if they would come a bit closer. Indeed they did, they ended up eating from our hands, that was quite fun.
We hurried up to pick up the kids from school and took them back to the same location so they’d get to see the birds too. Unfortunately the birds were gone, so we took another small walk, in the process we saw the rabbit.
We went back home, had a quick supper and then we headed to Rocky Harbour Pond. I did about one hour of kayaking, it was a little bit windy but nice just the same. Again I had a real good time.
So now we are back home and I am trying to catch up with all my blog writing. The photos will have to wait until tomorrow before I put them in the gallery. That is if tomorrow is not too busy.
8 caribous, 7 orignaux, 1 aigle a tete blanche, une bernache, 1 lapin, 2 oiseaux qui sont venu manger dans nos main, une geocache et une sortie en kayak. C’est mon compte rendu pour la journee.
Ca commence a etre difficile de mettre a jour mon blog, il y a trop de chose qui se passe, mais ca vaut la peine. J’ai eu une tres bonne journée. Ce matin je me suis levé tôt et comme il faisait beau et que le temps était agréable on a decidé d’aller a Cow Head pour chercher une Geocache. Sur le chemin on a vu quelques orignaux et quelques caribous. On n’a pas eu de difficulté a trouver la geocache. Ensuite on a fait un sentier. J’ai pris un bon nombre de photos, c’est durant ce sentier qu’on a vu L’aigle. Je n’ai pas ete capable de le prendre en photo car il etait trop loin mais Lucie a pu.
Sur le chemin de retour, d’autres orignaux et d’autres caribous. Comme on etait trop tot pour aller chercher les enfants a l’ecole, on a decidé d’aller a Berry Hill pond pour voir si la route etait ouverte et pour voir si le sentier etait praticable. On est juste arrivé au stationement et c’est la qu’on a remaqué des geais gris. Ils sont venus tres pres de nous, ca fait que j’ai sorti une barre tendre de mon sac a dos pour voir si ils viendraient plus pres. Et bien oui, ils ont fini par venir manger dans nos mains.
On s’est depeché d’aller chercher les enfants a l’ecole pour y retourner avec les enfants, mais quand on est revenu, les oiseaux etaient partis. On est donc tous allé faire une petite marche, c’est a ce moment la qu’on a vu le lapin.
On est retourné a la maison, on a eu notre souper et ensuite on a ete a Rocky Harbour Pond ou j’ai fait a peu pres une heure de kayak. C’etait un peu venteux mais je me suis pas mal amusé quand meme.
Maintenant je suis de retour a la maison et j’essaie de mettre a jour mon blog. Les photos vont devoir attendre a demain avant d’etre mis dans ma galerie, si demain n’est pas trop occupé…

Monday morning I got up early for someone who is off work for a few days. The weather was not nice, it was raining a bit, so I decided to stay in and spend some time reading the tons of e-mails that were waiting for me.
Around dinner time the weather cleared up and a shy sun showed up for a while. So we decided to go and do some small trails in the area, just to get some fresh air. There are still lots of snow in the woods but we managed. As you can see from the picture, there are some moose droppings too, lots of them…
I took a lot of photos. We ended up doing 2 small trails.
I received my 2 kayak dvd’s that I had ordered some time ago on e-bay. I watched a bit of it in the afternoon. This is torture, I just want to go out now. I had to stop watching them when the kids came back from school. They are in charge of the television you know…
Right after supper I went to a little look-out here in Rocky Harbour with Vincent, Kim and Alain. I was hoping to do a nice time lapse of a sunset. The time lapse came out ok, however the sunset was not much to see as it was too cloudy. I am planning to set up my own geocache, so while walking we looked for hiding places for them.
Tuesday morning, I once again got up early for someone not working. Again the weather was kind of bad, cloud and rain. At around 10:00 am, I decided that I would go for a little drive to Woody Point. One of the reason is there are 2 geocaches in the area. So we left, on the way we saw several moose. Today in total we saw 8 of them. When we left it was not raining, the closer we got the more it came down. So by the time we got there it was raining. I didn’t spend all this gas for nothing, so we went anyway. I did manage to find both of the cache, it was cool, especially since they were on trails that aren’t all that well known and it gave us an opportunity to discover them.
On the way back we saw some more moose and a few ducks.

Tomorrow is shopping day, so we are heading to Corner Brook early in the morning.
Hopefully the weather will be nice on thursday and I will be able to do something.

J’aime particulièrement l’écureuil.
Lundi matin je me suis levé de bonne heure pour quelqu’un en congé. La temperature etait pas vargeuse, un peu de pluie, donc j’ai decidé de rattraper le temps perdu et de lire la tonne de e-mails qui m’attendaient.
Vers l’heure du diner, le temps s’est éclairci et un soleil timide est apparu pour un bout. On a decidé d’aller faire quelques sentiers pas loin d’ici, pour prendre de l’air un peu. Il y a encore pas mal de neige dans le bois, mais on s’est debrouillé. Comme vous pouvez le voir sur la photo, il y avait aussi pas mal de p’tits cadeaux d’orignaux, pas mal beaucoup, fallait regarder ou on mettait les pieds par endroit…
J’ai pris beaucoup de photos. On a fini par faire 2 sentiers.
J’ai reçu mes 2 dvds de kayak que j’avais commandé il y a pas mal de temps sur e-bay. J’ai commencé a en regarder un dans l’apres-midi. C’est pas drole ca, c’est vraiment de la torture, maintenant tout ce que je veux faire c’est d’aller en faire. J’ai dû arreter de le regarder quand les enfants sont revenus de l’école. Ils sont en charge de la television vous savez.
Tout de suite apres le souper je suis allé au belvedere de Rocky Harbour avec Vincent, Kim et Alain. J’espérais faire de la photo en temps continu du coucher de soleil. Ca a sorti pas mal, mais pas comme esperé, il y avait trop de nuage. J’espere pouvoir cacher ma propre geocache bientot, faqu’en meme temps on a cherché un bon endroit pour le cacher.
Mardi matin, je me suis encore levé de bonne heure pour quelqu’un qui ne travaille pas. Encore une fois la temperature n’etait pas vraiment de notre coté. Des nuages et de la pluie. A environ 10:00 AM, j’ai quand meme décidé d’aller faire une promenade en voiture jusqu’a Woody Point. La principale raison, c’est qu’il y a 2 geocaches pas loin de la. Donc on est parti, sur le chemin on a vu plusieurs orignaux. Dans la journee on en a vu 8 en tout. Quand nous sommes partis il ne pleuvait pas, mais plus on se rapprochait de Woody Point, plus c’est devenu mauvais. Par le temps qu’on est arrivé il pleuvait. Je n’ai pas dépensé tout ce gaz pour rien, donc on a decidé d’y aller de toute facon. On n’est pas fait en chocolat. J’ai reussi a trouver les 2 geocaches et je me suis bien amusé.
Sur le chemin de retour on a vu d’autre orignaux et quelques canards.
Toutes mes photos récentes sont maintenant dans ma galerie et j’ai 3 nouvelles photos en temps continu. Allez jeter un coup d’oeil.
Demain c’est la commande d’epicerie a Corner Brook, donc lever tot le matin. Si je suis chanceux peut etre que la temperature sera de mon coté jeudi et que je vais pouvoir faire quelque chose.
