And yes another day outside. The plan this morning was to go to McAdam. Vincent had noted a Geocache that was on an island and so far no one had found it. So we had a chance for a first to find. We packed all the kayaking gear, put both kayak on the roof and off we went.

Along the way we stopped a few times for Vincent to do some Geocaches, Lucie and I had found these ones last week.

We arrived at our destination about a hour and a half later. It took us some time to find a good spot to launch our kayaks. Vincent and I went for the Geocache while Lucie stayed behind.

We paddled for 6 kms to the island. All the way in we had the wind against us and we had to work extra hard. It is not easy to try to keep up with a 20 year old. It is in these occasion that one finds out that he is not as young as he used to be. All that I am saying is that I had lot of exercise for one day.

We arrived at the island and found the Geocaches without any problem, however we were beaten by a few hours, someone else had already found it “today”…

We were not the first to find it, however we still had lots of fun.

So another good day, kayaking / geocaching / photography, all that in beautiful weather. Tomorrow Vincent and I are going Geocaching once more, I am trying to get to 300 geocaches found.

Et oui une autre journee au grand air. Le plan ce matin était d’aller à McAdam. Vincent avait remarqué une Geocache qui se trouvait sur une île et qui n’avait pas encore été trouvée. Donc, on avait la chance d’etre les premiers a la trouver. On a tout emballé l’equipement de kayak et on as mis les 2 kayaks sur le toit de la voiture et on est parti pour la grande aventure.

Apres 1 ½ de route on est finalement arrivé a destination. Ca nous a pris un peu de temps pour trouver un endroit ou lancer nos kayaks. Vincent et moi sommes partis pour faire la Geocache, Lucie de son coté est restée a nous attendre.

On a pagayé jusqu’a l’île, environ 6 kms. Durant tout le trajet on avait le vent dans la face, faqu’on a du travailler un peu plus fort. C’est pas evident d’essayer de suivre un jeune de 20 ans. C’est dans ces occasions que je remarque que je ne suis plus aussi jeune que je le pense. Tout ce que je veux dire, c’est que j’ai fait beaucoup d’exercices pour une journée.

On est finalement arrivé à l’île et on a trouvé la Géocache sans aucun problème, mais on s’’est fait battre par quelques heures, quelqu’un d’autre l’avait déjà trouvé “aujourd’hui” …

On etait pas les premiers mais on a quand meme eu beaucoup de plaisir.

Donc une autre bonne journée a faire: kayak / geocaching / photographie, tout ca dans une temperature tout simplement parfaite. Demain Vincent et moi, on va encore faire du Geocaching, je veux essayer de depasser les 300 caches trouvées.

Well another day outdoors, we left in the morning and spent the whole day looking for Geocaches. It involved lots of driving but that’s alright, it gave us a chance to visit the area. The weather was extremely nice and according to the weather channel it was suppose to be 30, it certainly felt like it. In total we found 25 new Geocaches, we also got a nice sunburn and a lot of fresh air. So another good day.

The plan for tomorrow is to go geocaching but this time with Vincent, he has a few that he wants to find.

Et bien un autre journee à l’extérieur, on est parti ce matin et on a passé la journée entière à chercher des Geocaches. On a fait beaucoup de voiture, ca nous as donné la chance de visiter un peu la region. La temperature etait parfaite et d’apres la meteo il devait faire 30 cette apres midi. En tout cas il faisait chaud et je me plains pas. Au total, on a trouvé 25 Geocaches de plus. On a fini avec un coup de soleil et beaucoup d’air frais. Donc, une autre bonne journée.

Le plan pour demain est encore d’aller faire des Geocaches, ce coup-ci avec Vincent, il y en a quelques-unes qu’il veut trouver.

I know it has been quite some time since the last time I updated my blog. I was busy working and on my days off I played games on playstation 3 for the last few weeks. So really nothing new until today, so here I am.

Before talking about today, 3 weeks ago, we went for a walk on Sunday evening right after supper to get our meal down, hamburgers on the BBQ. We had the chance to see a nice sunset.

Last week we spent Sunday geocaching. We all left in the morning and went to McAdam. There is a old train station that I wanted to show everybody.

Along the way we found a few geocaches. We had a real good family day. Although the kids were tired when we got home, we still enjoyed it (I think… they didn’t want to come with us this week). We found 14 geocaches during the day.

Today we had nice weather, so we went for a day on the water. We went kayaking on Maquapit Lake which is about ½ hour drive from home.

Again along the way we did some geocaching, we found 8 new geocaches.

Then we spend 4 hrs on the water. I had a real good time. Nice weather, nice river, kayaking what else can you ask for.

Tomorrow if the weather is nice, we are going Geocaching. I will let you know how that went.

Je sais que ca fait un petit bout de temps depuis la dernière fois que j’ai fait une mise à jour de mon blog. J’ai été occupé au travail et durant mes journées de congé j’ai passé mon temps a jouer des jeux sur mon PlayStation 3. Donc pas vraiment de nouveau jusqu’à aujourd’hui. C’est la raison que je suis là.

Avant de parler d’aujourd’hui, il y a environ 3 semaines, on est allé faire une marche apres un gros souper du dimanche, pour digerer un peu les hamburgers sur le barbecue. On a eu la chance de voir un tres beau coucher de soleil.

La semaine dernière, on a passé dimanche a faire du Geocaching. On est parti le matin en direction de McAdam, Je voulais montrer è la famille une vielle gare.

En chemin, on a cherché quelques Geocaches. En fin de compte on a passé une bonne journee en famille. Les enfants etait fatigués et chialeux a la fin de la journee, mais je pense qu’ils ont quand meme bien aime ca (en tout cas je pense… ils n’ont pas voulu venir aujourd’hui). On a trouvé 14 Geocaches dans la journée.

Aujourd’hui comme on avait du beau temps, On est allé passer la journée sur l’eau. On est allé faire du kayak sur le lac Maquapit qui est a environ une demi heure de voiture de la maison.

Encore une fois, en route on a fait du Geocaching, On a trouvé 8 Geocaches.

Ensuite on a passé 4 heures sur l’eau. J’ai vraiment aimé ma journee. Beau temps, belle rivière, kayak, quoi demander d’autre?

Demain, si la temperature le permet, on va aller faire du Geocaching. Je vais vous dire comment ça s’est passé.

Another great week end. What is 202 you ask. The number of geocaches we found! I will get back to this later. Saturday I had to work in the morning. In the afternoon we, (Lucie, Alain, Kim and I, Vincent stayed home) went to the mall, we did some shopping and then went for supper. Right after supper we went to see Clash of the Titans in 3d. That was a cool movie.

Today, Sunday, the plan was to go and find geocaches. The goal was to get to 200 today. This was not a big challenge as we already had 186. 14 to go. We planned to go on a trail where there were several geocaches (about 25). Guess what?  We never found the trail and almost got stuck in the mud. There was a sign that said “Road Closed”…  Now I know why. I was told several time by Lucie that I was crazy. The main thing is that we didn’t get stuck, but the van got real dirty.

We still managed to find 14 geocaches, not on that road though. During our searches we took a lot a nice photos. We found an old barn.

Our 200th geocaches was in a cemetery. I know creepy but still managed to take some good photos.

Tonight right after supper, Vincent asked me if I wanted to do a new night geocache with him, it had just been published today. So we went and found it, we had a lot of fun and while we were at it we found another one. Which brings my total to 202. So not a bad week-end after all even if it was colder and windier. Tomorrow is back to work.

Un autre bonne fin de semaine. Vous vous demandez surement pourquoi 202. C’est le nombre de Geocaches qu’on a trouvés! Je vais en parler un peu plus loin. Samedi matin j’ai ete travailler. Dans l’après-midi, (Lucie, Alain, Kim et moi, Vincent resté à la maison) on est allé au centre d’achat, On a fait un peu de magasinage et ensuite on a ete souper. Après le souper on est allé voir Clash of the Titans en 3D. Pas pire comme film.

Aujourd’hui, dimanche, notre plan était d’aller chercher des Geocaches. L’objectif était d’arriver à 200 aujourd’hui. Ce n’était pas tres difficile car on en avait deja trouvé 186. Donc 14 à trouver. On avait prevu aller faire un sentier qui en avait plusieurs  (environ 25). Devinez quoi? On a jamais trouvé le sentier et on est presque resté pris dans la boue. Il y avait un panneau indiquant qui disait  “Road Closed/Route fermée”…  Maintenant je sais pourquoi. Je me suis fait dire plusieurs fois par Lucie que j’étais fou. L’important c’est qu’on est pas resté pris, mais la van etait pas mal sale.

On a quand meme réussi à trouver 14 Geocaches, pas sur cette route-là par exemple. Pendant nos recherches on a pris pas mal de photos. On a trouvé une vieille grange.

La 200e Geocache etait dans un cimetière. Un peu macabre, mais quand meme j’ai fait quelque bonnes photos.

Tout de suite apres le souper, Vincent m’a demandé si je voulais faire une nouvelle geocache de nuit qui venait tout juste d’etre publiée aujourd’hui. On est donc parti et on l’a trouvé sans probleme, On a eu pas mal de fun et en meme temps on en a trouve une autre. Ca me donne un total de 202. Donc, une fin de semaine pas si pire, même si c’etait un peu plus froid et venteux. Demain, c’est le retour au travail.

Yesterday was another nice spring day. We are not used to enjoying this kind of weather in April. I am not sure if it is regular weather for this area or a result of global warning. In any case, it was another nice day, I must say we were spoiled over the week-end.

Today we had planned to do a lot of Geocaching and a little bit of exploring. We ended up doing it the other way around, lots of exploring and little geocaching.

Our first stop of the day was a geocache. At that location we found a waterfall. We went down to the river and found out while there, that we were on the wrong side of the river in relation to the geocache. So instead of climbing over, crossing the river on the bridge and going back down, we just walked across the stream. The water was cold. We found the geocache without problem and took all kinds of photos.

Second stop was to find one of the waterfalls that we had missed the day before. This time we had all the direction to get there and found it easily. We ended up with lot of good photos.

Then we tried to find 2 more geocaches without success.

As all this took some time, it was time to get back home. On our way home we did 4 more geocaches that were on the side of the road. So once again it was a good day, taking some fresh air and doing exercises.

I am back to work for another week.

Hier c’etait un autre beau jour de printemps. On n’a pas l’habitude de ce genre de temperature au mois d’avril. Je ne sais pas si c’est la temperature normale dans le coin ou si c’est le resultat du rechauffement de la planète. De toute facon une autre belle journee de printemps. On peut dire qu’on a ete pas mal gâtés en fin de semaine du cote temperature.

Notre premier arrêt de la journée a été une géocache. On a meme trouver une chute d’eau a cet endroit. On a descendu du mauvais cote de la riviere par rapport a la geocache. Faqu’au lieu de tout remonter, traverser sur le pont et redescendre on a decidé de traverser a pied. L’eau etait froide mais on a quand meme trouvé la geocache et en meme temps on a fait tout plein de photos.

Deuxième arrêt a été pour trouver la chute qu’on n’avait pas ete capable de trouver la veille. Cette fois, on avait des directions un peu plus precises, donc on l’a trouvé sans aucun problème. La encore on a fait tout plein de photos.

Comme tout ca a pris pas mal de temps. Il a fallu qu’on s’en retourne a la maison pour le souper. Sur le chemin de retour on a trouvé 4 autres geocaches sur le bord de la route. Donc, une autre bonne journée, a prendre du grand air et faire tout plein d’exercices.

La je suis comme tout le monde, de retour au travail pour une autre semaine.

Another day outdoors. I am working on a tan, no seriously it is more like a sunburn. The day started very well. Lucie, Kim, Alain and I went to do a little trail not so far away from here. The trail was very short, less than .5 km, none of the kids complained about it.

The end of the trail was worth every steps we took to get there. We found a really nice waterfall, call Lindsay falls. Quite the scenery, breathtaking. We ended up staying there longer than the time it took to get there.

We all returned home for lunch. In the afternoon we left again to find more trails and check out some other waterfalls. The kids were too tired from their morning excursion to attend. We drove about 45 minutes to get to the trail and along the way did a few geocaches. Upon arrival we found out that the whole area was under construction.

They are building a road. We were unable to find the beginning of the trail. So we turned around and went for another geocache and found a nice little spot.

Then we decided to check out one of the waterfalls. Once more we ran out of luck as the same scenario happened, couldn’t find the trail to get to the waterfall due to construction (I believe it is the same road). However this time we went across in the wood in the general direction of the fall. We got fairly close but had to turn around due to the terrain. It was too tricky to keep on going.

So after this afternoon and the lack of result on the things we wanted to do, we decided to go back home. On the way back we did a few more geocaches and found 2 covered bridges.

Even if we didn’t find what we were looking for, we had a good afternoon, taking advantage of another nice spring day. Tomorrow I think it will be more geocaching.

Un autre jour au grand air. Je travaille tranquillement sur mon bronzage, non serieusement, ca ressemble plus a un coup de soleil qu’autre chose. La journée a tres bien commencé. Lucie, Kim, Alain et moi, sommes allés faire un petit sentier pas tres loin d’ici. Le sentier etait très court, à peine.5 km, tellement court qu’aucun des enfants n’a chicané.

Ce qui se trouvait a la fin du parcours valait vraiment la peine. On est arrivé as une chute qui s’appelle la chute Lindsay. Le paysage etait tout simplement a couper le soufle. On a fini par y rester plus longtemps que le temps qu’il a fallu pour y arriver.

Ensuite on est retourne a la maison pour le diner. Dans l’après-midi, on est reparti pour aller chercher un autre sentier et d’autre chutes. Les enfants étaient trop fatigués de leur excursion matinale pour venir. On a conduit pour a peu pres 45 minutes pour arriver au sentier et en chemin on a fait quelque geocaches. Un fois arrivé a l’emplacement du sentier on a realisé que partout aux alentours il y avait des constructions. Ils construise une route.

On n’a pas ete capable de trouver le debut du sentier. On a donc fait demi tour et on est parti, en chemin on a trouvé ne autre geocache dans un beau petit coin.

Ensuite on a decidé d’aller chercher une autre chute, mais la encore on s’est retrouvé face a face avec des constructions (je crois que c’est la même route). Donc la encore on n’a pas trouvé le debut du sentier. Mais cette fois on a decidé de couper a travers le bois dans la direction general de la chute. On s’est rendu asser proche, mais a dû faire demi-tour à cause du terrain. C’etait trop abrupte pour pouvoir continuer.

Donc dans l’après-midi on n’a pas vraiment pu faire rien de ce qu’on avait planifié, on a décidé de rentrer à la maison. Sur le chemin du retour on a trouvé d’autres geocaches et 2 ponts couverts.

Même si on a pas trouvé ce que l’on voulait on a quand meme passer un bon après-midi, tout en profitant d’une belle journee de printemps. Demain, je pense qu’on va aller a la recherche d’autrse geocaches.
